I am originally from MN but I trained with renowned doula Jessica Atkins in Austin, TX where I lived for two years before moving to Oregon. I am certified by DONA International as of July 2012. Here in Eugene, I am an active member of the Birth Companion Network and the Doulas for Lane County. I consider myself a birth activist and a radical doula and I am dedicated to changing the standard of technocratic birth.
I am a graduate student of human ecology at the University of Oregon, Eugene (Department of Biological Anthropology). I study evolutionary health, women’s reproductive ecology, and the human microbiome. I speak Spanish and practice Celtic traditions.
I live with my partner at Maitreya Ecovillage in Eugene, OR. I enjoy rock and tree climbing, biking and cooking vegan delights. I believe in growing my own food and fixing my own plumbing. I am the proud mother of five egg-laying hens and many green plants. I don’t have any children of my own but that means I have obligation-free time and energy to commit to your birth experience.
